  it was written in such a way that no one could accuse him of being another bitter old apostate.. once it registered in my brain, especially after reading the second book, i knew i had to get out!.

  when eloise dupuis gave birth to her son in 2016, there were complications where a blood transfusion would have saved her live.

  however, she refused and died; to the horror of the medical staff and the entire province of quebec.. two years later, there was a change in politics and the topic came back up in the media.

  the parents of eloise dupuis, obviously exhausted by the media coverage, wrote a comment to a well known news paper in quebec.

  Individuals should be free to make their own choices. If that choice happens to be to shun some one - so be it. The problem is when we come to organizationally mandated shunning. That crosses the line into coercive control, and that is - in my view - is evil. That governments choose to give charity status to groups that practice this is highly questionable.

  i just overheard an anointed acquaintance on the phone with a friend of hers who has just had surgery for cervical cancer.

  among the snippets of dialogue i heard on my end of the line, these ones stood out:.

  Her response was correct imo. There is no basis to argue that non JW's should observe the WT's irrational policies on blood, blood components, and blood fractions. Sadly, we have numerous incidents where it works the other way.

  when i was an elder back in the 1970's i loved to debate and challenge ministers, preachers, and holy rollers.

  now you can be a loyal jdub fully indoctrinated for 30 years but just take a peek at an apostate website and you are doomed.

  yes, satan now has you by the gonads and all of the years of being at the meetings, all of the family worship nights, all of the conventions, and all of the personal study just go up in a cloud of smoke.

  What has changed from the early to mid 70's is the Watchtower Society itself. They experienced the great disappointment of 1975, and a serious falling away by many who were disenchanted. Then came the purge of the early 1980's, Ray Franz, Randy Watters, Jim Penton and other activists/advocates who published good material that exposed the Watchtower's many short comings. It was about this time period that all of the regular warnings about apostate writing started in my memory. I think the fear in JW's, particularly middle aged and older ones, is a direct result of the these developments. The next wave of internet based advocates Kent Steinhaug, David Reed, H20, AJWRB, etc, probably did as much or perhaps more damage than the previous wave simply because they could be viewed privately, links could be shared, etc. These days the WT has a lot to fear, so they transfer that in their writings.
